Privacy policy
Olfaria collects as little personal data as it can: only what you send us yourself, and the technical data any web server needs to run. We do not sell it, and we do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

Who is responsible
Olfaria (olfaria.com) is responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach us about privacy at support@olfaria.com or through the contact page.
What we collect
- Contact form: your name, email address, the topic, an optional perfume name, your message and the page you sent it from. We use it only to read and answer your message.
- Newsletter: your email address and where on the site you signed up. We use it only to send the newsletter.
- Journal comments: the display name you choose and your comment, which are public, plus a one-way hash of your IP address used only to limit spam. We never store the IP address itself with a comment.
- Technical data: like every website, our server receives your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. It is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and stop abuse (for example, limiting how many messages one address can send), and is kept only as long as needed for that.
What we do not do
We do not use analytics or advertising trackers, we do not build profiles, and we do not sell or rent personal data. If we ever add analytics or personalised advertising, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Legal basis
We process contact messages and comments because you ask us to (to answer you, or to publish your comment), newsletter data on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time, and technical data on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
Who processes it
The site, its database and our email run on servers we rent from a hosting provider and manage ourselves; contact messages are delivered to our own mailbox. We do not pass personal data to third parties except where the law requires it. When you follow a shop link you leave Olfaria, and the retailer's own privacy policy applies.
How long we keep it
- Contact messages: until your request is handled, then deleted or archived for no longer than needed.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your address.
- Comments: while the article is published, unless you ask us to remove yours.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, object to its use or withdraw consent, by writing to support@olfaria.com. We answer within one month. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Cookies
The public site sets no cookies. A few preferences are kept in your own browser, and the editorial dashboard uses one sign-in cookie. Details are in the cookie policy.
Changes
We will post any change to this policy on this page and update the date at the top.
