About
Gianni Versace launched his label in Milan in 1978, drawing on his Calabrian roots and classical imagery, and after his death in 1997 his sister Donatella and brother Santo led the company. Versace joined Capri Holdings in 2019 and passed to the Prada Group, which completed its purchase in December 2025. The first fragrance, Gianni Versace for women, appeared in 1981. Today the perfumes are made by Euroitalia, an Italian fragrance company whose portfolio mixes its own brands with licences, and its Versace range spans the Eros, Dylan and Crystal families.
