About
Tom Ford left his creative director role at Gucci in 2004 and launched his own label in 2005 with business partner Domenico De Sole. Beauty came first: a cosmetics and fragrance partnership with Estée Lauder began that same year, and the fragrances soon split into a broadly distributed Signature line and the pricier Private Blend range. Private Blend helped bring niche-style pricing and dark, ingredient-led compositions to department stores. In 2023 Estée Lauder bought the Tom Ford brand outright, while the fashion business passed to Ermenegildo Zegna Group under licence.
