About
Julien Sprecher founded Parfums de Marly in 2009, building the brand around eighteenth-century France, when Louis XV's court was famous for its use of scent. The name refers to the Château de Marly, a royal residence, and the logo shows the Marly horses sculpted by Guillaume Coustou together with the year 1743. The king's fondness for racehorses explains the equestrian names of many masculine releases. The range has grown past thirty fragrances, split between masculine scents and a feminine line led by Delina. In 2023 Advent International took a majority stake in Sprecher's group, which also owns Initio Parfums Privés.
