About
Spanish-born designer Paco Rabanne, born Francisco Rabaneda Cuervo, opened his Paris house in 1966 and drew attention with dresses made of metal discs and plastic. Puig began marketing his perfumes from 1968, launching Calandre in 1969, and the group now owns the brand. From the 2000s Puig built the fragrance arm around striking bottles and heavy marketing, with 1 Million shaped like a gold ingot and Invictus like a trophy. In 2023 the house dropped the first name and now trades simply as Rabanne.
