About

Marc Jacobs and his business partner Robert Duffy started the label in the mid-1980s, and the first Marc Jacobs collection appeared in 1986. LVMH took a majority stake in 1997 and held it for nearly three decades, until WHP Global and G-III Apparel Group completed their purchase in September 2026 through a jointly owned company. Coty acquired the fragrance licence in 2003, and Daisy, launched in 2007, became one of the most successful women's perfume lines of its time. In 2023 the licence was extended and widened to include make-up.
