About

Belgian designer Martin Margiela founded the house in Paris in 1988 with Jenny Meirens, and it became known for anonymity, deconstruction and reworked garments. The OTB Group, led by Renzo Rosso, has owned it since 2002. Fragrance came through a partnership with L'Oréal's luxury division, which produces the perfumes under licence, and the first scent arrived at the end of the 2000s. The Replica line followed in 2012, borrowing its name from the house's reproductions of found clothing and presenting each perfume as a labelled memory with a place and a period.
