About
Louis Vuitton opened his trunk workshop in Paris in 1854, and the company became a cornerstone of LVMH after its 1987 merger with Moët Hennessy. The house had made perfume briefly in the first half of the twentieth century before a long pause. In 2012 it appointed Jacques Cavallier Belletrud as master perfumer, and after about four years of work it released seven women's fragrances in 2016. The scents are composed at Les Fontaines Parfumées, a property in Grasse that LVMH bought in 2013. Men's, unisex, cologne and oud ranges followed.
