About
Eddie Roschi and Fabrice Penot opened Le Labo in New York in 2006, building the brand around the idea of a working laboratory where fragrance is mixed fresh at the counter. Its naming system, a lead ingredient followed by a count of components, became a signature, and Santal 33 grew into one of the defining niche scents of its decade. The Estée Lauder Companies bought the house in 2014. Le Labo has since added body care, home scents and an annual programme of city-specific perfumes sold only in their home city for most of the year.
