About
Lattafa was started by Shahid Ahmed, who had worked for years in a relative's perfume shop in Dubai before setting up his own business; the company says it is family run and now in its third generation. Sources disagree on its origins, with one giving 1980 in Dubai and the founder describing a Sharjah base trading for more than three decades. The range leans on oud, amber and sweet gourmand accords at prices well below designer and niche houses, and several of its releases are widely treated as inspired-by alternatives to more expensive fragrances. It reports more than 2,000 products and distribution in over 120 countries.
