About
Initio Parfums Privés appeared in 2015 within the group built by Julien Sprecher, the founder of Parfums de Marly. Where Marly looks to the French royal court, Initio is framed around the effect of perfume on desire and mood, and it often highlights specific materials such as hedione, musks and oud. Its fragrances are grouped into themed collections, with Oud for Greatness becoming its most widely known release. In 2023 the investment firm Advent International took a majority stake in Sprecher's group, which includes both houses.
