About
Parfums Christian Dior began in 1947 with Miss Dior, with the designer's friend Serge Heftler Louiche as its director. Edmond Roudnitska created Diorama in 1949, Diorissimo followed in 1956, and Eau Sauvage, Dior's first masculine scent, arrived in 1966. Moët et Chandon began buying the perfume business in 1968, and it entered LVMH through the 1987 merger that created the group; LVMH reunited the couture and beauty sides of the brand in 2017. Francis Kurkdjian became perfume creative director in 2021. The house sells widely distributed pillars alongside a boutique range of higher-priced compositions.
